Welcome! I'm Crystal Shade, and I'm so glad you're here. My life is built around three passions: making, teaching, and community. Here, you'll find all three under one roof.
The studio is still closed, this could not be happening at a worse time. If you wish to help please purchase a gift certificate for a class, workshop or custom piece
On September 12, the Davidson County Fire Marshal’s Office issued a stop work order. 100 Taylor Street in Nashville is currently closed due to critical safety violations, including issues with fire suppression, emergency lighting, and accessibility. . The owners are working with city officials to make necessary repairs, but some upper levels may not be able to reopen due to structural issues. This means I have not been able to work since then and I will not have anything new listed in the shop until further notice. Thanks for understanding!

We are so excited to create something beautiful for you! Because every piece we make is touched by human hands and fire, we have a few clear policies to ensure a smooth and joyful process for everyone.
Our No-Refund Policy
For Custom Orders & Timelines: Since a custom order is made just for you, requiring dedicated time and materials, we must state that all sales on custom work are final—no refunds. We promise to keep you updated every step of the way! Please also keep in mind that the magic of pottery is slow and unpredictable. Due to the high-heat and volatile nature of the kiln, all production and completion times are strictly estimates. Your patience allows us to deliver the highest quality piece possible.
For Classes & Workshops:Â We can't wait to see you in the studio! Due to limited class sizes, we do not offer refunds on registrations. However, we understand that schedules change:
- If you notify us at least 10 days before the scheduled start date of the class or workshop, we will happily issue you a studio credit to use toward a future session.
- Cancellations made less than 10 days before the start date unfortunately cannot receive a credit.
For Physical Products Purchased (Non-Custom): If you purchase a ready-made item and decide it's not quite right, we are pleased to offer a store credit for its value (minus shipping) upon its return in original condition. We do not issue cash or credit card refunds.
Standard shipping takes 5-7 business days. Express shipping is available for 2-3 business days.
We are thrilled for you to enjoy your unique piece! Our pottery is designed for daily life and built to last.
Unless otherwise noted on the product listing or the piece itself:
- All items are oven, dishwasher, and microwave safe.
A Few Friendly Exceptions:
To keep certain special pieces looking their best, please note:
- 🚫 Metallics & Microwaves: Any item featuring gold, silver, or copper luster must not be placed in the microwave, as the metals can damage the appliance and the pottery.
- 🧼 Intricate Work: For pieces with delicate or intricate sculptural work, we highly recommend handwashing to best protect the fine details over time.
